The KD Sealing method introduces a fresh approach to mending gas leaks from exposed gas pipe threaded joints, notably around areas such as gas meters.

The procedure allows for the KD sealant to be applied around the screw without stopping the gas supply, even when the pipe is live. Following the sealant’s application, two tapes—one to hold the sealant in place and another to maintain pressure on the sealant—are wrapped around the area. This enables the sealant to penetrate gaps in the screw, halting the gas leak.
Importantly, after solidifying, the KD sealant retains flexibility, demonstrating both high vibration resistance and resilience against weather conditions. Once the gas leak has been repaired, the tapes can be effortlessly removed, leaving no evidence of the repair behind, thus ensuring the aesthetics remain intact.

How to Use
1. Clean the threaded part and apply the KD sealant. Initially, avoid using soapy water for leak checks.
2. Wrap the tape designed to retain the sealant around the joint.
3. Overlap the tape used for retaining the sealant as depicted in the illustration.
4. Over the previously applied tape, wrap the tape intended to maintain pressure on the sealant.
5. Overlap the pressure-maintaining tape and let it set for 10 minutes.
6. For simpler removal, create a notch using a cutter or a similar tool.
7. Remove all of the tape used for retaining the sealant and the tape used for maintaining pressure on the sealant.
8. Restore the area to its initial condition. After a 10-minute pause, check with a detector. If you plan to paint, ensure no gas leaks with the detector before painting.
